Bank Simpanan Nasional The First in Malaysia To Select Scania’s New K 410 IB Intercity Coach

The vehicle is equipped with a new powerful yet environmentally friendly 410hp Euro 3 compliant engine. Built with the latest in EGR emission technology, the new global engine offers a higher torque at lower revs and even lower fuel consumption.

In addition to the standard Electronically controlled Anti-lock Blocking System (EBS) as well as Traction Control (TC) - which are now standard specifications across the range for all Scania buses – the new buses are also equipped with other advanced features such as 8-speed Scania Opticruise with kick-down and oil cooling for gearbox, Scania retarder and fully adjustable steering wheel as well as full-air suspension, ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

BSN acquired a Scania K 114 IB bus back in 2008 and the latest order further reinforces BSN’s confidence in Scania buses.

“BSN is committed in providing best-in-class transportation that ensures premium comfort and safety to our employees. This is why we chose Scania,” said Ahmad Latfan bin Mohd Amran, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Corporate Support) of BSN during an official handing over ceremony at Scania Malaysia’s headquarters at Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam. BSN will deploy the new bus to facilitate transportation of its employees to training courses, meetings and events.

“We are extremely honored that Scania’s legendary comfort, safety and reliability has won over BSN’s approval with a repeat purchase and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with one of Malaysia’s longest standing banks,” said Idros Puteh, General Manager of Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. “Scania’s latest global engine platform has resulted in further improved combustion, upgraded engine management system, totally new engine architecture, improved exhaust brakes and integrated systems for emission control. The end result is less emissions and more power without compromising fuel efficiency. As such, we are confident that Scania buses and intercity coach will enable our customers in Malaysia achieve maximum profitability,’ added Idros.
