Certified by TÜV Süd - Quality assurance at LAMILUX

Now it’s official: the name LAMILUX is synonymous with optimum, TÜV-certified quality. As the world’s first manufacturer of fibre-reinforced composites, LAMILUX has recently been awarded the internationally recognised octagon mark by the renowned German technical inspection agency, TÜV. The mark certifies that LAMILUX meets the top quality control and quality assurance standards.

The company recently opted to have the majority of its laboratory and test facilities appraised and inspected by the TÜV Süd technical inspection agency, thus imposing the highest quality standards on itself. At the end of the detailed certification process, the TÜV specialists had assessed 17 analysis, measurement and test methods with regard to their usefulness and validity for quality assurance and product development.

“Our extensive tests and checks provide the basis for analysing and continuously improving versatile material properties during development and manufacture of fibre-reinforced composites,” states LAMILUX Technical Manager Stefan Bachstein. “In this way, we reliably assure the quality of our end products based on a wide range of tests. The TÜV Süd mark confirms that we fully comply with our own high quality standard for our products."

A total of 17 test and measurement methods used for quality assurance and material analysis were assessed by TÜV Süd in LAMILUX’s laboratories and test rooms. These methods are of key importance for material quality controls and are strictly regulated by standardised procedures to a large extent.

The quality and material tests appraised by TÜV Süd included the Charpy impact test (as per DIN EN ISO 179, DIN 53435 and DIN EN ISO 180), tensile and flexural strength tests (DIN EN 527-4 and DIN EN ISO 14125), weathering tests (Xenon-arc lamp and SUN test as per DIN EN 4892-2), impact, temperature and attrition tests, delamination tests and DMA measurements
