Chevron Malaysia Limited, which carries the retail brand Caltex, launched its latest product Caltex Power Diesel with Techron D, a new utlra-premium diesel fuel that has triple cleaning power and provides more power and reliability with every fill recently.

Shahid Ahmed, Chevron Malaysia Country Chairman, speaking at the launch of the diesel fuel enhanced with Techron D, emphasized that power and reliability are the promises that the new product is meant to deliver to their customers.

“We understand that our customers’ needs are constantly evolving in this ever fast paced environment. The introduction of Caltex Power Diesel with Techron D is proof of our commitment to provide customers with clean, safe and reliable quality products which not only increase vehicle performance but prevent engine corrosion for both old and new diesel engines, ” Shahid said.

He continued by saying, “The launch of our new ultra-premium diesel is aimed to reinforce the Caltex brand as a quality fuel provider and making it the fuel of choice for Malaysian motorists.”

In a diesel engine, keeping the fuel injectors clean is critical as diesel fuel injectors are prone to deposit formation. Deposits can upset the injector spray pattern and hinder the fuel-air mixture and thus can result in a decrease in fuel economy, engine performance and increase harmful emissions. This new ultra-premium diesel is an improved diesel containing Chevron's exclusive Techron D additive to control deposits, help maintain fuel injector cleanliness and enables optimum engine performance.

On top of that, Caltex has added Techron D, the latest product containing three times more cleaning agents compared to the regular diesel. The additive is claimed to keep fuel injectors clean, restore lost power and improve acceleration and fuel economy, while decreasing exhaust emissions and preventing corrosion. Caltex said that after performing standard industry laboratory engine tests, Power Diesel produced 10% more power than a diesel fuel without any additives.

As with the refined formula, Caltex Power Diesel contains sulphur content of less than 10 parts per million (ppm), compared to the 500 ppm of current diesels. As such, this is making this new diesel fuel product a better option for modern diesel engines and emissions control equipment, which are able to reduce the emission of harmful pollutants.
