Scania Hands Over First Heavy Haulage Scania R560 V8 XT in Labuan
Scania handed over the first Scania R560A6x4NZ V8 Heavy Haulage XT (XT) in Labuan to Kiong Ngee Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (Kiong Ngee) today. The key to this XT that is safe, comfortable, fuel-efficient and reduces CO2 emission, was handed over by Bonnie Anjun, Solution Sales Executive, Scania Southeast Asia to Su Puong Ping - Managing Director of Kiong Ngee. Celebrating the handover were also, Sii Sii Kuok - Director of Kiong Ngee Transportation, Su See Bing, Manager and Wong Kiong Hock, Account Executive, both from Kiong Ngee Engineering, and Frankie S. S. Su and Fadric Lo, Directors of Sea Lane Shipping Sdn Bhd. This magnificent XT that has been approved to carry loads of up to 220 tonnes comes complete with a Repair & Maintenance contract, 24/7 Scania Assistance service and Scania Fleet Management System Monitoring Package.
This XT comes fitted with the standard safety features such as the technologically advanced Electronic Braking System (EBS), the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with traction control, Hill hold to avoid the XT from moving when stopping on hilly roads, and Daytime Running Light (DRL) for better visibility. The large windscreen with extended view will make it easier for the driver to operate in a safe and comfortable environment. In addition, the adjustable seat that is close to the door enables easy access while the ergonomic dashboard, 7-inch touch screen monitor for ease of operation, additional overhead storage, and a sleeper in the cabin for resting between hauls makes the XT a home away from home.
The XT is also designed and engineered to give Kiong Ngee better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions as it is equipped with advanced powertrain and aerodynamic solutions that gives up to 3 percent improved fuel economy. The powerful Scania V8 engine together with the Scania Opticruise gearbox and a rear axle gear adapted for cruising on direct drive can give further fuel-savings of up to six percent. The wide gear ratio spread makes it possible to optimise the rear axle gear for low engine rpm in cruising speed, without compromising startability. This gives a high performing powertrain for a profitable and more sustainable business. The pre-set Economy Mode with Opticruise saves even more fuel.
The toughness of the XT stands ready to take on the toughest challenges. The XT steel bumper provides excellent protection for the components at the front of the vehicle, reducing unwanted downtime and costly cab and chassis repairs while improving mobility with its larger attack angle. Also fitted with headlamp protection and integrated fog lamps in the bumper for driving in rough surroundings.
