Euro V trucks have been part of Malaysia’s transport sector since 2021, when MAN made them standard across its range. This marked the first step by a manufacturer to align with stricter international environmental laws. Euro V limits nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions, and compliance requires both low sulphur diesel and the use of AdBlue with selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

Fleet owners who adopted Euro V trucks early have built up several years of operating data. Their experience points to stable fuel consumption, dependable daily use, and adjustments in maintenance practices, particularly in handling AdBlue. These factors affect cost and usability, but they do not alter the fact that Euro V is a legal requirement. Emission standards are laws that operators must follow, regardless of truck performance.

As the first mover, MAN has backed its Euro V rollout with service support across Malaysia, longer workshop hours, and advanced safety systems built into its newer trucks. Fleets using these vehicles have shown that Euro V compliance is practical under local conditions and that the technology delivers consistent results.

The experience of these operators provides useful benchmarks for transporters considering Euro V trucks. Their feedback helps the industry prepare for wider adoption of cleaner technology while staying aligned with emission regulations.
