Mastermac Equipment Sdn Bhd is a major dealer of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle (M) Sdn Bhd. Both parties have been working together since 2012. This relationship was built based on trust and shared values. Asian Trucker spoke to both parties to gain more understanding on this working relationship.

We met Eugene Ong, Managing Director of Mastermac Equipment Sdn Bhd and Lim Khoon Yee, Managing Director of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle (M) Sdn Bhd at The Smart Manufacturing Exhibition 2019. The exhibition was held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 28 to 30 August 2019.

Ong shared that “We have been working with Dongfeng since 2012. As one of the top Chinese truck brands, Dongfeng needs no introduction. We are honoured to be working with them and are proud to report that we have always achieved the targets set by them. Perception towards Chinese trucks has changed with times and the general public are more receptive towards them, now more than ever.” He further emphasized that he hopes the economy will pick up next year as sales have decrease this year due to a temporary slow down in the construction and logistics industry. Mastermac exhibited a Dongfeng prime mover, tipper and mixer at the show.

Lim said that “we are grateful to have worked with such a compatible company like Mastermac. They have shown us time and time again that they are capable of reaching our expectations. We are here to show support to our good partner at Mastermac. I am thankful they have chosen to display our trucks at this exhibition. The exposure at this show will raise awareness towards our brand and showcase our trucks. The trucks on display are some of our new launches this year. I hope that this relationship with Mastermac will continue in the future.”

Also present to officiate the event was YB Tan Kok Wai, Special Envoy of Malaysia to People’s Republic of China and Chairman of Malaysia – China Business Council.
