It was an eye-opening experience for members of the Negeri Sembilan Lorry Operators’ Association (NSLOA) when they visited Man Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd’s (MAN Malaysia) integrated headquarters at Shah Alam recently.
During the half-day visit, the 20-strong NSLOA delegation led by its President, Mr Lee Hung Yang was given an in-depth briefing on the latest features of MAN’s 2026 truck product range, service centre operations and the Road Transport Department-certified CKD assembly line capable of assembling one unit of MAN TGS prime mover every two days.
MAN Malaysia Managing Director Marc Appelt said that having been in Malaysia for 35 years, the company has always aimed to play an active and constructive role in driving positive changes in the Malaysian transport industry.
“Close collaboration with established and respected key transport industry stakeholders like NSLOA is important to gain the attention of the authorities and induce necessary action,” he said.
For members of the oldest trucking association in Malaysia, it was their first visit to MAN Malaysia’s headquarters even though many of them own and operate MAN trucks.
Lee, who is also the Chairman of L & R Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd said, ”We have been using MAN trucks since my father’s days back in the 1990s. We can see that MAN, especially its aftersales support, has improved significantly over the years.”
Mawar Movers Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Suresh Kumar expressed satisfaction with the performance and uptime of his fleet of Euro V-specification MAN TGS prime movers.
“The MAN Repair and Maintenance Contract (RMC) makes it easy and cost-efficient to maintain the trucks. I definitely plan to extend the contract upon expiry,” he said.
Rani Transport Sdn Bhd director RV Giri concurred.
“MAN Trucks are already very robust and reliable. The RMC means no headaches or costly surprises. All our seven units of MAN TGS are covered, making it hassle-free and worry-free,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sunmaju Sdn Bhd Head of Logistics Leon Teng was impressed by the responsiveness of MAN Malaysia’s aftersales support.
“We own and operate various truck brands and none can match MAN Malaysia’s level of service. Most service centres will close at 6.00 pm and will not be contactable until the next day. It was a pleasant surprise when MAN Malaysia messaged me late in the night to tell me that our truck, which went in for servicing, was ready for collection the next morning at 8.30 am,” he said.
The NSLOA delegation was later feted to a fun-filled dinner to cap a fruitful and eye-opening visit.
