Asian Trucker attended Pioneer the Possible – Innovation-Led Green and Digital Transition by Malaysia and Sweden at TRX 106 on 12–13 November 2025. The two-day event brought together Malaysian policymakers, Swedish commercial vehicle companies, and industry leaders to explore sustainable mobility, electrification, and smarter logistics.
The sessions were intimate, gathering 40–50 participants per session for panel discussions followed by networking. The programme highlighted four themes: Industry 4.0, DigiTech, Energy, and Transport, with commercial vehicles taking centre stage on 13 November.
“The event provides a platform to share expertise on sustainable transport solutions and the adoption of electric and autonomous vehicle technologies,” said the Embassy of Sweden.
Transport-focused panels featured Johan Larsson, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks, and Joyce Antar, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, along with officials from Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC). Discussions covered EV incentives, charging infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and public-private collaboration for low-emission commercial transport.
The Pioneer the Possible Exhibition showcased Swedish innovation in transport. Modular displays featured electric trucks, autonomous freight solutions, and energy-efficient logistics systems, supported by digital touchscreens with Fossil Free Sweden roadmaps, explainer videos, and company highlights.
“Through sharing expertise, industry experience, and practical innovations, the event highlighted how Swedish and Malaysian stakeholders can work together to advance sustainable mobility,” added the Embassy.
Participants commented that they were pleased to see Sweden taking up the duties to achieve leadership in commercial vehicle electrification and digitalisation, and the growing opportunities for collaboration with Malaysian partners to drive low-emission transport solutions across the region.
