Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Isuzu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Koji Nakamura berkata, “Isuzu Malaysia amat berbesar hati untuk mengakhiri tahun 2020 dengan pencapaian terbaik. Kami ingin mengalu-alukan kedatangan tahun baharu dengan sambutan berganda selepas berjaya menduduki kedudukan tertinggi untuk kategori trak dan jenama trak tugas ringan sekali lagi.

“Jumlah trak yang dijual tahun lalu merupakan perkongsian pasaran paling tinggi pernah kami rekodkan sejak Isuzu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. ditubuhkan.

IVECO Celebrates the 600,000th Eurocargo Built at its Iconic Brescia Plant

IVECO celebrates the 600,000th Eurocargo produced at the Brescia plant, an iconic production site for the brand that has played a key role in every generation of this vehicle, whose glorious past goes hand-in-hand with constant, forward-looking innovation. The Brescia plant has always been the heart of production operations for the Eurocargo, thanks to the commitment and passion that its workforce of around 1 600 employees dedicate to their jobs.

Says Brescia plant director Marco Colonna: “It is with great pride that we are celebrating the production of the 600 000th Eurocargo, whose fourth generation has been enjoying a continued success for many years. This milestone vehicle could not be powered by anything else but compressed natural gas (CNG), a tangible reaffirmation of IVECO's constant commitment to sustainable mobility. Launched in 1991, the Bertone-designed Eurocargo was conceived to be one of the most innovative industrial vehicles on the market - as reflected in its remarkable sales success - with a modular cab platform allowing extensive scope for vehicle customisation without driving up costs. The significant history that lies behind us now guides us on a path of continuous improvement and innovation which, over the coming years, will see our vehicles evolve to become greener than ever.”

A pioneer in sustainability, IVECO is engaged every single day in actively reducing CO2 emissions with its alternative energy vehicles, which offer the ideal solution for the energy transition of the transport industry. Natural gas benefits both the environment and the economy, as it is the most effective solution available today for the needs of tomorrow. Natural gas-powered Eurocargo models are also extremely quiet, making them ideally suited to all urban missions.

The Brescia-based team works in synergy in every phase of production, from assembly of the chassis to cab bodywork, painting and installation of the transmission, to fitment of the interior trim, all the way to final inspection. The factory also produces special versions for military applications and firefighting. This flexibility is made possible by teamwork and by the 'World Class Manufacturing' integrated production system, which was introduced in 2007 with the goal of achieving zero defects, inefficiencies, waste and accidents. This gives the Eurocargo an edge, not only for its design, but also for its performance.

The origins of the plant date back to 1903, when Roberto Züst founded Fabbrica Automobili, a company that went on to become Officine Meccaniche (OM) in 1928 and was acquired by Fiat in 1968. After initially manufacturing cars (including race cars), OM moved to the agricultural sector and then on to industrial vehicles. In 1975, OM was among the “founding partners” of the new-born company IVECO. In 1991, the factory was chosen as the site where production of the new Eurocargo would begin. The plant thus became the "home" of this model, and went on to play a key role in plotting the roadmap towards high-tech, sustainable vehicles. The plant itself is committed to safeguarding the environment and sustainability, and over the next few months, approximately 20 000 m² of solar panels will be installed at the site, cutting CO2 emissions by 1 300 tonnes per year.

Scania Singapore announced that it has commenced sales for its battery electric trucks from 6 April 2022. It also announced the signing of a sales agreement today with its first customer, ALBA W&H Smart City, for 15 battery electric trucks, the first European-branded battery electric trucks in Singapore.

The L230B6X2*4NB trucks will be delivered in two batches. With the initial batch, which is already in production planning, Scania will homologate its battery electric trucks and the respective charging infrastructure in Singapore, while the second batch will demonstrate Scania’s ability to rolled out the vehicles on a fleet level.

In launching battery electric trucks, Scania aims to contribute to Singapore’s goal for all vehicles to run on cleaner energy by 2040 as well as Scania’s science-based targets for a 20% reduction in Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions generated through customers’ usage of its products.

“We are very pleased to welcome ALBA W&H Smart City as our pioneering partner towards more sustainable transportation in Singapore,” says Anders Liss, Country Manager of Scania Singapore. “It’s a significant leap forward in showcasing carbon-neutral transportation at a time when more organisations are coming on board to address the global climate crisis. ALBA together with Scania in a sustainable partnership is now part of the SG Green Plan 2030 journey towards net-zero emissions.”

“Being a city state, Singapore is the logical choice for us to establish our first fleet of fully electric vehicles,” said Sashi Kumar, General Manager of Solid Waste from ALBA W&H Smart City. “However, at the same time it is a highly competitive and demanding market with the highest service level expected worldwide, including daily collections and up to 12-hour shifts of continuous operation.”

Mr Kumar added: “We have monitored the market for electric vehicles for several years now and are happy that with Scania’s battery electric trucks, we finally found an electrified chassis that is ready for our daily grind of waste collection in the clean and green city of Singapore.”

The battery electric trucks can operate at close to zero emissions when using cleaner sources of electricity supplemented with the purchase of renewable energy certificates.

Each truck operates as a permanent magnet electric machine with oil spray cooling, with peak propulsion of about 295kW, 2,200 Nm and continuous propulsion of about 230 kW, 1300 Nm. With up to 250 km range on a single charge, it can cover short and medium distances on electric power.

Nine lithium-ion batteries, with an installed capacity of 297 kW, are backed by up to eight years of warranty. Direct current charging is carried out by the European-standard CCS type 2 plug-in connection at up to 130 kW/ 200 A.

In Singapore, customers can choose from the P-cab or L-cab series and 4x2, 6x2 or 6x2*4 wheel configurations with a maximum gross trailer weight of 28 tonnes. The battery electric trucks are suitable for urban operations such as distribution, waste collection, hook lifts, tippers and concrete mixers.

Mr Liss added: “An investment in a battery electric truck improves operators’ branding and market competitiveness as responsible organisations. They are addressing their own climate goals as well as the climate goals of their customers and society.”

Scania’s battery electric trucks are sold as a total solution with charging infrastructure, vehicle optimisation customised to the customer’s operations, repair and maintenance services and the option for financing and insurance services.

ALBA W&H Smart City is a joint venture between Berlin-based ALBA Group, one of the leading recycling and environmental services companies as well as raw material providers worldwide, and Wah & Hua, a leading Singapore waste management provider. In Singapore, the company is the NEA appointed Public Waste Collector for Jurong and Woodlands-Yishun sectors, where ALBA has established itself to be a leader in the space with their innovative suite of sustainability, digitalisation, and productivity solutions.

MAN TGS baharu untuk pasaran Malaysia menampilkan pelbagai inovasi seperti MAN EasyControl dan SmartSelect.

Berita baiknya ialah MAN Malaysia menawarkan langganan percuma selama dua tahun dengan setiap pembelian MAN Truck Generation Baharu.

Scania NTG XT

Mitsubishi Fuso Launches a New Model of the Aero Star City Bus

Mitsubishi Fuso Launches the Shogun 510 in Australia

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), is pleased to announce a new addition to the heavy-duty Shogun
line-up in Australia, the Shogun 510. The new Shogun model, which was officially launched on November 9th , delivers the highest horsepower in the Australian FUSO range.

The new Shogun model is available in Australia as a 6x4 prime mover or rigid truck for intra-hub transportation needs. With a gross combination mass (GCM) of 63 tons, 510hp and 2500Nm of maximum torque, the truck is capable of hauling a single or double trailer. The performance of the truck makes it the most powerful Euro VI-compliant heavy-duty truck delivered to the Australian market from a Japanese brand. The Shogun 510’s powerful drive is supported by the 12.8 liter Daimler OM471 six-cylinder engine, illustrating the competitive benefits of Daimler Truck’s global platform strategy.

Advanced safety features such as the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) are included in the standard offering. Furthermore, both the prime mover and rigid models of the Shogun 510 come with the Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA) collision mitigation system, while rigid models are additionally equipped with Sideguard Assist, which warns drivers of pedestrians or objects in the left blind spot. A three-stage engine braking system, as well as daytime LED running lamps, provide additional confidence, while a 7-inch high-resolution touch-screen display in the dashboard as well as a premium leather-wrap steering wheel support driver ergonomics and comfort on long hauls.

MFTBC implemented extensive testing for the Shogun 510 during the development phase in order to ensure compatibility with local needs. The vehicle underwent outdoor testing in the Australian outback at the prototype stage, climate testing in South Africa, and another round pre-production testing both in Australia and New Zealand, where the model is also being launched. With the introduction of this new Shogun, the FUSO brand will become an even stronger presence in the heavy-duty segment of  these key international markets.

The Shogun, as well as other vehicles in the Australian lineup, such as the Fighter, Canter and Rosa, are shipped as BU vehicles from MFTBC and distributed by Daimler Truck and Bus Australia. Furthermore, the inclusion of advanced safety features in the latest FUSO products comes as the Australian government outlines its commitment to “Vision Zero,” the multinational goal of reducing road fatalities and serious injuries to zero by the year 2050. By providing reliable trucks and buses with the latest driving assistance technology, MFTBC will continue to support safety on the road in Australia and all regions of the world.
