Hino Motors, Ltd. (HQ: Hino City, Tokyo. President & CEO: Satoshi Ogiso) held a line-off ceremony today for the first mass-produced Hino Profia Z FCV heavy-duty fuel cell truck at its Koga Plant (Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture).

The Hino Profia Z FCV is Japan 's first mass-produced heavy-duty fuel cell truck that combines environmental performance and practicality, aiming to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral and hydrogen society, and was released on October 24th of this year. With an eye on the widespread adoption of FC vehicles , the vehicle is produced on the same line as diesel vehicles at the Koga Plant, which is a mass-production plant.

Naoki Sato, COO of Japan Business, who attended the ceremony, said that, "This project was by no means an easy road, and we had to overcome numerous technical and other difficult challenges. I believe we have reached where we are today thanks to the professionalism of our team members and their passion for realizing a hydrogen society. Furthermore, our joint development partner, Toyota Motor Corporation, worked with us sincerely to tackle the challenges we faced. We hope to continue building an even stronger cooperative relationship as we work toward achieving carbon neutrality. I hope that the Hino Profia Z FCV will further promote the hydrogen society."

Through the commercialization of Japan's first mass-produced heavy-duty fuel cell truck, we aim to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral and hydrogen-based society, resolve the challenges facing our customers and society, and realize a sustainable society.
