New Ideas with Mini Drama An old friend of the Asian Trucker brand contacted me to set up an introduction meeting with a production house. They focus on the creation of micro dramas and we spoke about producing a micro drama series with trucking as the content focus. I like the idea, now just need someone to work with us to make this happen. Training for Safer Roads Known for his passion to make Malaysia’s roads safer, Datuk Suret Singh is now offering a training program for the top management teams of road transport companies. Jointly, we presented this program to one truck distributor who learned then that through this program transporters can access a 15 percent discount on their insurance premiums. ARCHION Interview When asked, I would always prefer a face-to-face interview, on site. However, thanks to modern technology we can now meet online where such arrangement is not feasible. A heavy thunderstorm during my call made the interview with Mr Karl Deppen a little more difficult. However, we managed to conduct a highly insightful sharing session which will be featured in the next issue of Asian Trucker. German National Day with MAN This year, I was attending the Reunification Day celebrations, hosted by the German Ambassy in Kuala Lumpur, as a guest of MAN Truck & Bus. In a mini-expo, MAN had a booth to showcase the brand. Interestingly, the booth was one of the most visited with mostly women checking out the MAN products on display. Trucks at F1 Thanks to Sendok Group and Sinotruk, I was able to join the free practice day of the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. Sinotruk is a major supporter of the sport and has been tasked with providing the trucks that ferry spectators having opted for the Paddock Club on a round of the track. Unfortunately, trucks are rarely highlighted in F1, although they play a huge role in the successful hosting of each race. Each team has four trucks to move equipment and to provide a conference room. Meanwhile, there are food trucks, tons of equipment need to be send to the circuit and eventually tons of waste is to be carted away.
