Reviewing the week of 5 to 11 October, these are Stefan Pertz’ highlights
MAN Top Used
Starting the week, I met with Paul of MAN Truck & Bus Malaysia. He heads the used truck sales division of the German OEM. While this sounds straight forward, there are a lot of intricacies around getting the truck ready for a new home. With thorough checks performed, the truck readied to roll out and warranties assured, these vehicles are sought after: Paul is confident that the next batch of trucks he is going to import from the UK will quickly sell out.
Rawang Calling
I have interviewed Steven of STLS Group a few years back. We spoke about the competitive landscape for transport owners and how they can shave off cost in order to stay attractive for their clients to continue using their services. The haze made it a little bit more difficult to frame his new trucks nicely as the sky was dull grey.
IToY Content
Asian Trucker is an Affiliate Member of the International Truck of the Year Award. Through this, we have access to almost 40 other titles dealing with commercial vehicles. Among the editors in this network, we share articles and this time, a number of high profile interviews were circulated following the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover. Using this content, I can bring to our readers different perspectives and additional news.
Magazine in Print
It is always exciting when the magazine is finally being printed. Two months pass between the publications of our Asian Trucker. Quality control is important at this point as we need to ensure that the colours come out nicely and that the overall print looks good. Oftentimes, we manage to weed out a few mistakes in the magazine at the last moment when we are at the printing press.
JOFFA Celebrates
Saturday I went to Johor Baru to attend the 48th Anniversary of the Persatuan Penghantar Fret Johor on the invitation of Sendok Group. On site, the trucks used in the F1 Paddock Club parade were parked again. The vehicles were a highlight of the evening with many guests climbing in to get a feel for he cabin size and outfit.
