TASCO Berhad, a subsidiary of Yusen Logistics Co Ltd of Japan and one of the largest integrated logistics solutions providers in Malaysia, has added more Euro V-specification MAN TGS prime movers to its haulage fleet following impressive performance of the first 15 units acquired last year.

Speaking at the handover of five more units of MAN TGS 6x2 prime movers recently, TASCO Chief Operating Officer II and Corporate Director of the Quality & Performance Improvement Group, Haris Fazail bin Haroon, expressed satisfaction with the MAN trucks and aftersales service provided by MAN Truck & Bus Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia).

“Our first batch of MAN Trucks has been on the road for the past seven months and we have not faced any issues at all. They have proven to be very fuel efficient with a high level of safety and reliability. MAN Telematics allow us to monitor every truck closely and the fuel economy has exceeded our expectations,” he said.

Haris also added that the Repair and Maintenance Contract (RMC) signed with MAN made it hassle-free to maintain the trucks in tip-top condition at a fixed cost with no surprises during the entire period.

“There is no need to wait for management approval for any repairs as everything from genuine MAN parts to labour is covered. There is minimal downtime as the turnaround time at MAN service centres is also very quick. They are also opened until 2.00 am which allows us to send in our MAN Trucks in the evening and have them ready first thing in the morning,” he said.

MAN Malaysia Managing Director Marc Appelt praised TASCO for its foresight in investing in Euro V MAN Trucks that are well-proven and highly-regarded by trucking operators the world and in Malaysia over for its reliability, performance and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

“We also ensured that all the TASCO drivers assigned to the MAN Trucks were well trained and able to optimise the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features to deliver the true performance synonymous with MAN,” he said.
