Pusat Pameran Perdana Isuzu Yang Pertama di Naik Taraf di Malaysia Timur Kini Dibuka

Rhino Motors Sdn Bhd, pengedar ISUZU Malaysia di Kuching telah melancarkan pusat pameran dan servis 3S yang baharu di lokasi strategik di Jalan Tun Jugah di Kuching, Sarawak. Pusat 3S baharu ini merupakan kemudahan pertama di Malaysia Timur yamenampilkan rekaan bilik pameran kontemporari Isuzu, merangkumi fasad baharu dengan identiti jenama yang lebih segar. Ruang dalamannya pula menawarkan pengunjung dan pelanggan dengan daya tarikan baharu, keselesaan dan perkhidmatan yang lebih berkualiti dalam pengalaman pembelian dan pemilikan kenderaan.

Berucap pada majlis pelancaran, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif ISUZU Malaysia, Shunsuke Okazoe berkata, “Reka bentuk bilik pameran moden ini adalah inisiatif yang bertujuan untuk mendekatkan diri kami dengan pelanggan berpotensi di rantau ini. Ia dilakukan menerusi pendekatan lebih dinamik dan pengalaman berbeza yang ingin kami berikan sepanjang perjalanan mereka menjadi pemilik produk Isuzu.

“Selain menawarkan akses yang lebih baik ke atas produk dan kepakaran Isuzu, saya percaya bahawa pusat 3S ini juga akan memainkan peranan penting dalam kehidupan pelanggan kami. Justeru, saya ingin mengucapkan tahniah kepada Rhino Motors di atas pelancaran pusat ini. Kami yakin ia akan dapat menawarkan kualiti perkhidmatan lebih cemerlang dan pengalaman pemilikan kenderaan yang terbaik dari mula hingga akhir.”

Pelanggan yang berkunjung ke pusat 3S baharu ini akan disambut dengan rekaan fasad moden dan keunikan jenama Isuzu yang menarik sebaik sahaja mereka melangkah masuk ke premis tersebut. Direka dengan mengutamakan keselesaan pelanggan, ruang dalamannya dipasang dengan lampu dan penghawa dingin di sekeliling. Ini pastinya memberikan suasana yang kondusif, nyaman dan eksklusif untuk memenuhi tujuan kunjungan.

Kawasan yang luas itu mempunyai ruang khas untuk resepsi servis. Ruang tamu pula membolehkan pengunjung untuk perbincangan. Manakala ruang pameran memiliki satu bahagian di mana sebuah kenderaan ‘hero’ akan dipamerkan untuk membolehkan pelanggan melihatnya secara lebih dekat. Satu ruang khas turut tersedia untuk penyerahan kenderaan baharu kepada pelanggan, manakala satu sudut lagi adalah ruang menjual barangan eksklusif Isuzu buat para peminat.

Selain itu, terdapat panel maklumat digital yang mudah digunakan di mana pelanggan boleh mendapatkan maklumat tentang produk Isuzu dengan hanya satu sentuhan. Ini sekali gus dapat menjimatkan masa dan mesra alam kerana ia tidak menggunakan sebarang kertas.

Aspek selepas jualan pusat 3S ini dikendalikan oleh pasukan teknikal berpengalaman yang memahami kehendak pelanggan dari segi kecekapan dan kepentingan tempoh boleh guna kenderaan mereka. Di samping itu, terdapat sembilan ruang servis untuk kenderaan Isuzu meliputi empat ruang servis untuk trak komersial dan lima ruang servis bagi kenderaan komersial ringan iaitu Isuzu D-Max.

Berkongsi pandangan, Pengarah Urusan Rhino Motors, David Tay berkata, “Pusat 3S baharu Isuzu ini bersedia sepenuhnya untuk membantu pelanggan dengan maklumat terperinci tentang kenderaan Isuzu yang boleh memenuhi keperluan perniagaan mereka dengan efisien, termasuklah apa jua servis yang mereka mungkin perlukan.

“Kami menawarkan rangkaian penuh produk dan perkhidmatan Isuzu, daripada trak pikap Isuzu D-Max hinggalah trak tugas ringan, sederhana, berat dan prime mover demi memenuhi keperluan pelanggan yang pelbagai.

“Digabungkan dengan semua perkara yang boleh ditawarkan oleh kemudahan baharu kami ini iaitu lokasi strategik, keselesaan, ruang servis yang banyak, komitmen pasukan dan kesediaan untuk memberi khidmat kepada pasaran, saya yakin kami mampu memenuhi keperluan pelanggan. Pada masa yang sama membolehkan kami terus meluaskan rangkaian pelanggan,” katanya lagi.

Scanai Memulakan Jualan Bateri Trak Elektrik

Scania memulakan jualan trak bateri elektrik yang dinanti-nantikan untuk operasi serantau pelanggan bagi memenuhi matlamat Alam Sekitar, Sosial dan Tadbir Urus (ESG) mereka, melalui pratonton pertama untuk pelanggan di Scania Malaysia Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.                                                                    

Tersedia sebagai trak tegar dan traktor treler, Scania menawarkan garis pemacu serba baharu, bateri yang dipertingkatkan, keupayaan pengecasan yang lebih pantas dan lebih berkuasa, jarak perjalanan 350 km pada muatan 40 tan dan jarak perjalanan 250 km pada berat kasar maksimum (GTW) 64 tan. Rangkaian kuasa tiga kali ganda mesin elektrik baharu juga menyediakan pelepasan kuasa elektromekanikal (PTO) yang mencukupi, memastikan operasi yang lancar dan boleh dipercayai sama ada menggunakan pengangkutan suhu terkawal atau jentera kuasa tinggi hooklift.

“Masa depan pengangkutan tidak pernah sekompleks ini, tetapi Scania telah memudahkan penggunaan penyelesaian bateri elektrik melalui proses perundingan jualan. Kini saya faham bahawa selepas mengenal pasti sasaran kemampanan, operasi dan pra-syarat kami; penyelesaian turnkey disediakan. Daripada pengecasan kepada jaminan bateri, daripada pembiayaan kepada insurans, daripada kontrak pembaikan & penyelenggaraan kepada latihan pemandu; bateri trak elektrik dari Scania dioptimumkan untuk kesesuaian operasi saya. Pek bateri kini dipasang di Scania, supaya muat dengan sempurna pada casis yang diperkukuh dan kedudukan baharu muka pengecasan, di sebelah kanan belakang pintu pemandu. Bersambung rapat ialah sistem pemanasan dan penyejukan yang diolah semula sepenuhnya, mengekalkan komponen kuasa dan bateri pada suhu operasi yang sempurna, dan membolehkan pengawalan  iklim kabin dengan mudah melalui platform digital kami. Ruang pemandu yang aerodinamik juga telah dipertingkatkan lagi dengan sambungan pemesong angin untuk memastikan setiap kWj memberikan jarak perjalanan yang maksimum.

Scania Hands Over First Heavy Haulage Scania R560 V8 XT in Labuan

Scania handed over the first Scania R560A6x4NZ V8 Heavy Haulage XT (XT) in Labuan to Kiong Ngee Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (Kiong Ngee) today. The key to this XT that is safe, comfortable, fuel-efficient and reduces CO2 emission, was handed over by Bonnie Anjun, Solution Sales Executive, Scania Southeast Asia to Su Puong Ping - Managing Director of Kiong Ngee. Celebrating the handover were also, Sii Sii Kuok - Director of Kiong Ngee Transportation, Su See Bing, Manager and Wong Kiong Hock, Account Executive, both from Kiong Ngee Engineering, and Frankie S. S. Su and Fadric Lo, Directors of Sea Lane Shipping Sdn Bhd. This magnificent XT that has been approved to carry loads of up to 220 tonnes comes complete with a Repair & Maintenance contract, 24/7 Scania Assistance service and Scania Fleet Management System Monitoring Package. 

This XT comes fitted with the standard safety features such as the technologically advanced Electronic Braking System (EBS), the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with traction control, Hill hold to avoid the XT from moving when stopping on hilly roads, and Daytime Running Light (DRL) for better visibility. Scania Recognises CANST as Top Three Transporters with Most CO2 Emissions Reduction Achieved

A special recognition was accorded to Circular Agency and North-South Transport (CANST) for being the third best transport company with marked improvement in reducing CO2 emissions via the Scania Ecolution partnership agreement. This success has led CANST to further commit purchasing 10 new units of Scania G410A6x2NZ (4 units) and Scania G360A4x2NA (6 units) with Repair & Maintenance Contracts, all of which would be included in the Scania Ecolution partnership as well.  CANST’s success and commitment to reduce more carbon footprint was officialised in a recent event graced by Heba El Tarifi, Managing Director, Scania Southeast Asia and Dato’ Lee Hau Hian, Managing Director of Batu Kawan Berhad at CANST’s premises. The CANST companies are subsidiaries of the Batu Kawan Berhad Group. 

’A Good Driver’ is a competition that aims to find the best driver with the best improvement in CO2 emissions reduction. For this competition, Scania decided to create a special recognition for the top three companies in CO2 emissions reduction. All of these are part of Scania’s commitment towards minimising emissions from its products and its own operations. These include cutting CO2 emissions by 20 percent from its customers’ land transport per transported tonne by 2025 (using 2015 as a baseline), and 50 percent from its own operations. As an Ecolution partner with Scania, the good company and the good driver are part of the journey towards achieving Scania’s Science Based Target of reducing CO2 emissions in line with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).

Snapshot of Singapore’s Bus Market as Seen by Volvo Buses

Any major metropolis depends on public transport systems as the arteries that move the most important component of the city: us, people. In recent rankings, TimeOut puts Singapore’s public transport system at the sixth spot while Far & Wide sees the city state leading in their May 2023 ranking. Land transport in the form of buses is a key component in the public transport ecosystem and in this exclusive interview, Mats Nilsson, Vice President of Volvo Buses Asia Pacific sheds light on how Volvo Buses contributes to the continued success and popularity of this mode of transport.

Currently, around 5 800 buses form the backbone of the public transport system in Singapore with another 6 000 on the private site. Some of these are held in reserve as contingencies when other modes of transport fail, or for servicing. However, the majority of these vehicles is actively deployed every day. “Overall, I think these buses are very well utilized. I would not think that there are too many buses currently here in Singapore,” Nilsson said. About 80 percent of the buses being in use at any given time. This comes to no surprise as Singapore is currently aiming to become “car-lite”, as reflected in recent hikes of the cost for a COE (Certificate of Entitlement, required to purchase a motor vehicle). “In principle, for any major city, the approach should be more buses, not less.”

To support this ambition to put even more emphasis on public transport, moving people away from personal vehicles, Singapore aims to have four to five more bus depots in operation by 2030 across the island. In doing so, the network is going to be better suited to move the masses while maintaining the current number of buses. In tandem, the MRT (Mass Rail Transit System) will also be expanded. Although, this would add capacity to the train network, Nilsson expects that there will be more buses needed as the MRT needs to be attached to a well working last mile transport operation. “With this, we will have a safe and clean transport system where people are going to move away from personal vehicles.” The idea is to be complimentary, not in competition with other modes of transport.

“In principle, for any major city, the approach should be more busses, not less,” Mats Nilsson, Vice President of Volvo Buses Asia Pacific

Nilsson stressed that a holistic approach is needed when looking at the implementation of any transportation system. Just having some bus lanes in certain parts of the city is not going to have the desired effect as he can relate from personal experience. “Interestingly, in Singapore, there are very few articulated buses on the road. There are some, but these are likely to be phased out.” Singapore is a city that is built more vertical than horizontal in its expanse; thus double-decker buses are favoured as the urban-scape is defined by the fact that Singapore is an Island.

The types of vehicles used is part of the continuous learning that Singapore applies in a bid to become a smarter city. The integration of public transport models is crucial when it comes to the success of the systems. “When integrated properly, then each mode of transportation contributes positively to the overall system,” Nilsson explained.

“The next big step we are going to take is the implementation of electric buses,” he stated. Currently, a limited number of Volvo hybrid buses are deployed, running on electric mode at about 25 percent of the time. Now, Singapore is trialling fully electric buses, of which they have purchased 60 from various suppliers. One positive effect of electrified transport is already evident as passengers commented positively on the fact that these buses would be silent and not belch out smoke when stopping to let passengers get on and off. A tender for several hundred fully electric buses has been issued and Volvo Buses is confident that Singapore will pick their offering for this large-scale test of this new technology. “Singapore’s target is to have 50 percent of their fleet of 5 800 buses to be fully electric by 2030 and by 2040 100 percent.”

Besides Singapore, Australia is going ahead with the electrification of public transport at rapid speeds while being key markets for Volvo Buses. Nilsson anticipates that Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia to be the next countries that will be heavily investing into electromobility. A peculiarity of Singapore is that there is only one body or organisation that is tasked with the running of the public transport in the entire country. Another unique feature of Singapore’s buses is that many are now equipped with three doors, making them more efficient at stops. With less density in other countries, the extra seconds saved using three doors may not be such a factor.

Currently, Singapore will have to deal with a mixed fleet, comprised of ICE (Internal Combustion Engines) and the newly introduced fully electric buses. With a permitted life span of 17 years, the current ICE-powered Volvo buses will soon all be phased out as the last purchase has been a few years back. In order to support the ambition to go fully electric, charging infrastructure needs to be put in place and currently, separate tenders are out to invite bidders to tender for this package of the infrastructure. “It is indeed a challenge to secure enough electricity and enough charging stations, however, we are moving in the right direction.” Bus bodybuilders, OEMs and the providers of charging infrastructure are being asked to work closely together to ensure that the systems are being implemented smoothly and using charging facilities that can be used by all brands.

New technologies require new thinking and Nilsson is eagerly looking at the implementation of the 3Rs in connection with batteries needed for electric vehicles. As batteries will go through three lives, the 3 Rs stand for Refurbish, Remanufacture and Repurpose and finally Recycle.  Here, the size of the island state and the support framework provided by the Singaporean government will allow Volvo Bus to rapidly learn and gain experience in this area. “This can be significant knowledge that we can gain here, and we need to share this.” Hailing from Sweden, he draws parallels as his home country has also been one that became successful by sharing knowledge. He cautioned though that one should not become too confident as the insights gained in one country may not be applicable to their full extend in other places.

Other trends Nilsson is also observing is that in parallel to the electrification of the public transport system, autonomous vehicles are also being developed and tested, albeit a slower pace. In addition, considerations are given to Hydrogen as a source of power for vehicles. “With the end of the pandemic, we are now also seeing tourists coming back and the local population travelling more again.” Travel between Singapore and Malaysia has also resumed, increasing the need for capacity yet again. Nilsson speculated that a lot of it could be “Revenge Travel” in addition to events and conference now being back at their previous levels.

Other trends Nilsson is also observing is that in parallel to the electrification of the public transport system, autonomous vehicles are also being developed and tested, albeit a slower pace.

Volvo Bus is also back on track when it comes to delivery times as the supply chain issues during the pandemic have been resolved. Naturally, there may always be some bottlenecks with certain parts, however, Volvo Buses is approaching the issue by localising as much content of their products as possible to become less dependent on imported components. According to Nilsson, Volvo Buses evaluates localisation by evaluating where there is a sufficiently large bus market or where one can find quality components. Nilsson explained that “Right now, the localisation is driven by the buyers, who are demanding that there is larger amount of localised content is part of the overall offering.” In Australia, individual states are even expecting that localised content is sourced not just from the country, but the specific state.

In this context, Volvo Buses is also looking at human resources, i.e. local talent that will be involved in the creation, production and servicing of the vehicles. In this case, the “glocal” approach of hiring local staff for a MNC is a manifestation of this. Nilsson points out that Singapore has been very supportive of this approach, right down to financing of projects, especially during the recovery. Again, it is the holistic approach that one would have to take in order to make an ecosystem work flawless, as Nilsson points out.

SNL Logistics is First Customer to Purchase Scania Super Trucks

Scania Singapore handed over 10 Scania Super trucks to SNL Logistics, the first customer to purchase the industry-leading Scania Super trucks in Singapore. The company will receive another six Scania Super Trucks over the next few months. 

“SNL Logistics is the first in Singapore to put their trust in the Scania Super by investing in a fleet of 16 new trucks that are recognised as the most advanced and efficient combustion-engine powertrain in the industry,” said Oscar Wyckman, Country Manager of Scania Singapore. “The Scania Super is a superb choice, delivering greater power and greater fuel savings to support SNL Logistics’ business expansion while lowering carbon emissions for the good of the environment.” 

The Scania Super is a major update on the New Truck Generation launched in Singapore in 2018. It features a new powertrain, which together with its improved components, offers up to 8 percent fuel savings for long-haul operations. Each engine runs on the new Scania Twin Selective Catalytic Reduction System, with dual injection of AdBlue in the exhaust after-treatment and brake thermal efficiency of up to 50 percent. 

When fully delivered, the new fleet for SNL Logistics comprises two G560 A6x4NZ and 14 P460 A4x2NZ trucks, each powered by the 13-litre Scania Super engine that reduces drag and delivers a maximum torque of up to 2 800 Nm from 900 rpm on a six-cylinder inline platform. The trucks will be used to support the company’s expanding general cargo operations.

Tech Talk: Indicating the Health of your Brakes

Local outfit SHINVENGO offers brake wear indication systems that are easily retrofit to your vehicle, offering a convenient way to assess the remaining life span of your brake pads and linings.

Brake failure (or just the possibility of it) is costly and time consuming for car manufacturer. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) (2020), General Motors is recalling an additional 14 620 trucks and SUVs because their brakes may suddenly become difficult to use. In June 2022, Mercedes-Benz recalled nearly one million older vehicles worldwide because of a problem that could cause a potential problem with the braking system.

There are vehicle owners out there who don’t consider brake maintenance a priority until something goes wrong. In most vehicles, the front two wheels have a braking apparatus that depends on what are known as rotors: metallic discs found behind each wheel. Above each of there is a clamp-like device called the calliper. When you hit your brake pedal, the callipers start to close, squeezing the disk from both sides. This action produces friction, which cause the wheels to spin slower until they come to a complete stop. Brake pads are the removable surfaces that callipers use to make contact with the rotors during this process.

"But when is the right time to replace your brake pads?"

These brake pads won’t last forever. The friction will inevitably wear the brake pads down over time. Let the brake pads get too thin, and your brakes won’t work as effectively as they should. For safety’s sake, it’s imperative that you get new brake pads installed at the first sign of trouble.

The presented invention is a brake pad wear indicator, which is a smart indication system for vehicle brake pads or brake shoes. Numbering the Problem

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) (2020), General Motors is recalling an additional 14 620 trucks and SUVs because their brakes may suddenly become difficult to use. In June 2022, Mercedes-Benz recalled nearly one million older vehicles worldwide because of a problem that could cause a potential problem with the braking system.

There are vehicle owners out there who don’t consider brake maintenance a priority until something goes wrong. In most vehicles, the front two wheels have a braking apparatus that depends on what are known as rotors: metallic discs found behind each wheel. Above each of there is a clamp-like device called the calliper. When you hit your brake pedal, the callipers start to close, squeezing the disk from both sides. This action produces friction, which cause the wheels to spin slower until they come to a complete stop. Brake pads are the removable surfaces that callipers use to make contact with the rotors during this process.

"But when is the right time to replace your brake pads?"

These brake pads won’t last forever. The friction will inevitably wear the brake pads down over time. Let the brake pads get too thin, and your brakes won’t work as effectively as they should. For safety’s sake, it’s imperative that you get new brake pads installed at the first sign of trouble.

Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd (HSTD), the General Distributor of Daimler Trucks in Malaysia has announced the winners of the first draw for its FUSO Canter 60th Anniversary contest. The contest, which is organized to mark 60years of the light-duty Canter truck, will run until December 2023 and is open to anyone who purchases and registers a FUSO truck between January to December 2023. 

This month’s draw is the first of a series of three lucky draws that will be held until January 2024, with the total value of prizes to be won amounting to RM900 000. The first draw was for trucks purchased and registered with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) between 1st January 2023 to 30th April 2023, while the second draw which will be held in September 2023, is for trucks registered between 1st January 2023 to 31st August 2023. The third and final draw will be held in January 2024, for trucks registered between 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023.

The next generation eCanter debuts in Indonesia, the Fuso brand’s largest overseas market

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is pleased to announce the all-electric eCanter truck’s debut in Indonesia at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), running from August 10 to the 20th. Following the world premiere of the Next Generation eCanter in September 2022, this will be the first time that the vehicle is being presented to the Indonesian market. MFTBC and FUSO distributor PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB; headquarters: Jakarta, President Director: Nobukazu Tanaka) are planning for the market introduction of the vehicle to take place in 2024.

Until now, KTB has conducted customer trials of the eCanter with major logistics providers in Indonesia such as Trimitra Trans Persada (B-Log), Pos Indonesia, and GoTo. From August 2022, the previous generation of the truck was tested over the course of the past year under operational conditions in Bali and Jakarta. Through the trials, the eCanter covered over 10 000 km on Indonesian roads and received positive feedback from customers.

The planned market introduction of the eCanter comes as the Indonesian government strengthens its focus on sustainability as one of the pillars of future development, as set forth in its most recent National Medium-Term Development Plan. Indonesia has also committed to the collective Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate (MEF) goal of transitioning 30% of global medium- and heavy-duty vehicle sales to ZEV products by the year 2030. As the largest overseas market for the FUSO brand and the largest automotive market in the ASEAN region, the country’s introduction of carbon neutral transportation represents a major focal point for the global commercial vehicles industry.

The Next Generation eCanter was developed with an innovative drivetrain system featuring the eAxle, which integrates the motor with the rear axle. The more compact drivetrain design has enabled the introduction of a modularized battery concept that provides customers with more freedom in driving range. Additionally, four intensity levels have been introduced to the regenerative brake system, an EV-specific feature favored in heavy-traffic situations. The Next Generation eCanter also comes with a power take-off unit that can support a wider variety of body applications, to suit diverse business needs.

Sales of the eCanter will be targeted to customers operating in the greater Jakarta area. New Quester Introduced in 2019 Elevates the Driving Experience

Fuel costs typically constitute 60 percent of operating costs for fleet operators. UD Trucks Anjur Program CSR untuk Kanak-Kanak Rumah Kebajikan Shelter Home

Kakitangan dari UD Trucks Hub Malaysia yang turut disertai oleh pengedar tunggalnya, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) baru-baru ini telah menganjurkan satu program tanggungjawab sosial koporat (CSR) akhir tahun yang membawakan kemeriahan serta pengalaman unik kepada kanak-kanak di Shelter Home di Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

 

Program yang berlangsung selama setengah hari itu padat dengan pelbagai aktiviti, termasuklah kempen keselamatan jalan raya ‘memahami trak’, lawatan maya secara langsung ke Zoo Singapura dan program rakan pena dengan kanak-kanak dari rumah anak yatim di Filipina dan Jepun, di mana aktiviti CSR serupa juga dijalankan secara serentak oleh kakitangan UD Trucks di rantau ini. 

 

Acara di Shelter Home bermula dengan ucapan ringkas oleh Pengurus Besar UD Trucks Hub Malaysia, Supriono Madayin di hadapan penjaga dan kanak-kanak terlibat. Dalam ucapannya, beliau menyatakan bahawa inisiatif CSR ini merupakan refleksi kepada matlamat korporat UD Trucks dalam membina kehidupan lebih baik untuk orang ramai.

 

Shelter Home yang diwujudkan sejak tahun 1981 membantu kanak-kanak yang didera, diabai atau berisiko yang memerlukan tempat selamat untuk tinggal. Shelter Home juga memberikan kanak-kanak berkenaan pendidikan dan sokongan kaunseling. Buat masa sekarang, rumah itu menjadi kediaman kepada 35 orang kanak-kanak lelaki dan perempuan yang berusia dari lima hingga 18 tahun.

 

“Sebahagian daripada falsafah ‘Better Life for the People’ UD Trucks adalah berhubung dengan komuniti yang kurang bernasib baik di sekeliling kita. Salah satu aktiviti utama yang sentiasa dijalankan di seluruh dunia ialah program keselamatan jalan raya dalam kalangan kanak-kanak yang pergi ke sekolah. Matlamatnya adalah untuk mendidik dan menanamkan kesedaran mengenai cara mengelakkan kemalangan jalan raya, terutama yang melibatkan trak. Kanak-kanak ini akan belajar dan mengambil bahagian dalam pelbagai aktiviti dengan trak tugas berat sebenar untuk menunjukkan lokasi titik buta, berhati-hati dengan saiz trak dan ruang yang diperlukan ketika masuk ke simpang jalan,” kata Supriono.

 

Trak tugas berat UD Quester dibawa oleh TCIE dan diletakkan di acara tersebut untuk memberi pengalaman sebenar kepada kanak-kanak ini. Sekali gus membantu mereka memahami risiko dan langkah-langkah keselamatan di sekeliling trak. Minat kanak-kanak ini dicetuskan sepanjang aktiviti yang dimulakan dengan penerangan asas tentang anatomi chasis dan ciri-ciri yang ada di dalam kabin pemandu. Mereka kemudian dibawa ke sekeliling trak supaya boleh mengetahui titik buta di bahagian belakang, hadapan dan sisi trak berkenaan.

 

Ia diteruskan dengan satu taklimat keselamatan tentang cara yang betul untuk naik dan turun dari kabin pemandu. Kanak-kanak ini diberi peluang untuk naik ke dalam kabin pemandu dan mengetahui apa yang boleh dilihat atau tidak ketika memandu sebuah trak yang besar. Mereka semua nyata kelihatan sangat teruja.

 

Selain sesi memahami trak dengan lebih baik, mereka ada menonton tayangan beberapa video animasi keselamatan jalan raya yang mendidik mereka mengenai asas keselamatan jalan raya dan amalan pejalan kaki yang baik. Anak-anak muda ini juga mengambil bahagian dalam pop kuiz ringkas tentang keselamatan jalan raya dan akhirnya menerima beg hadiah. 

 

Kegembiraan kanak-kanak ini semakin bertambah dengan aktiviti lawatan maya interaktif ke Zoo Singapura yang dipimpin oleh seorang ranger. Mereka berpeluang meneroka hidupan liar dan pengalaman pergi ke zoo dari tempat berbeza. Lawatan maya itu membawa kanak-kanak ini untuk melihat secara dekat pelbagai jenis haiwan seperti orang utan, zirafah, badak sumbu, harimau dan kuda belang, selain peluang untuk belajar tentang habitat, diet dan jangka hayat haiwan-haiwan berkenaan. 

 

“Tujuan kami bekerjasama dengan Zoo Singapura untuk membuat lawatan maya secara langsung dan interaktif ini adalah bagi memberi peluang kepada kanak-kanak di negara lain meneroka zoo ini kerana bukan mudah untuk mereka pergi ke sana. Ia juga bertujuan memberi keseronokan dan menggalakkan mereka mempunyai minat serta menghargai hidupan liar,” kata Supriono.

 

Sebagai tambahan, program rakan pena juga diadakan untuk kanak-kanak ini berkenalan dengan kawan-kawan baharu dari Filipina dan Jepun. “Kami mengambil peluang ini untuk menghasilkan satu program rakan pena serantau dengan memadankan kanak-kanak ini dengan rakan-rakan mereka di negara lain berasaskan kepada kumpulan umur. Mereka kemudian berjumpa dan bertegur sapa di antara satu sama lain untuk memulakan persahabatan baharu yang akan diikuti oleh balasan surat. Tujuan kami adalah untuk mencipta peluang untuk kanak-kanak ini berkawan dengan individu di negara lain dan boleh menyokong antara satu sama lain. Ia juga merupakan satu cara baik untuk bertukar-tukar nilai budaya dan memupuk semangat kepelbagaian di dalam diri mereka,” katanya.

 

GP Joseph, Pengurus Kanan, Shelter Home berkata, “Salah satu misi utama kami adalah untuk membantu kanak-kanak ini mengatasi trauma dan mengembalikan rasa penerimaan terhadap diri sendiri, maruah dan kepercayaan terhadap kemanusiaan. Jadi, kami mahu membesarkan mereka secara seimbang, matang dan bergaul dengan masyarakat yang positif. UD Trucks dan TCIE Lancar Trak Euro 5 Tugas Berat Quester dan Tugas Sederhana Croner di Malaysia

UD Trucks dan rakan pengedar tunggalnya di Malaysia, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) hari ini melancarkan rangkaian trak Euro 5 yang cukup dikenali iaitu Quester (tugas berat) dan Croner (tugas sederhana). Model naik taraf itu hadir dengan pelbagai ciri yang akan menambah baik aspek tempoh penggunaan, kecekapan dan mengoptimumkan kos keseluruhan pemilikan (Total Cost Ownership) kepada para pemilik trak. Pada masa sama mengurangkan impak kepada alam sekitar.  

Quester dan Croner Euro 5 baharu tersebut ialah model pertama UD Trucks yang direka secara khusus untuk pasaran luar Jepun. Rangkaian model ini telah diperkenalkan di pasaran yang pantas berkembang dan rantau pesat membangun di seluruh dunia. Ini berikutan banyak negara mula menguatkuasakan standard emisi antarabangsa yang lebih ketat dalam usaha mengekang pencemaran serta menambah baik kualiti udara.     

Pelancaran terbaharu ini membuktikan komitmen falsafah Better Life UD Trucks untuk menjadi lebih baik kepada planet, manusia dan pertumbuhan. Sekali gus mengurangkan impak ke atas alam sekitar dan membuatkan mereka kekal kompetitif.” 

Rangkaian model Euro 5 baharu menampilkan teknologi Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) untuk meningkatkan perlindungan alam sekitar dan menjimatkan bahan api dengan signifikan. Dengan teknologi ini, nitrogen oksida kini 60% lebih kurang dan emisi partikel berkurang sebanyak 80% berbanding tahap Euro 3. 

Jika dibandingkan dengan tahap Euro 4, nitrogen oksida adalah 43% lebih kurang. Bukan itu sahaja, enjin Euro 5 juga lebih jimat dan rendah emisi CO² berbanding trak Euro 3 yang sama. 

UD Trucks ialah pengeluar trak pertama yang memperkenalkan teknologi Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) sejak tahun 2004. Teknologi itu terbukti boleh dipercayai berbanding teknologi kawalan emisi lain untuk mengurangkan emisi nitrogen oksida.  

Teknologi SCR dapat menjimatkan penggunaan bahan api dan kos pemilikan secara keseluruhan kerana kurang keperluan penyelenggaraan berbanding teknologi kawalan emisi yang ada sekarang. Ia juga menawarkan kuasa dan tork lebih tinggi melalui pembakaran yang optimum tanpa perlu meningkatkan saiz enjin. 

Tempoh operasi perniagaan juga dapat dipertingkat menerusi selang servis lebih baik dan tempoh penyelenggaraan yang lebih singkat. Perkara ini disokong oleh adanya AdBlue, satu bendalir ekzos diesel yang selamat untuk digunakan pada kenderaan dengan teknologi SCR. Ia berfungsi mengurangkan gas-gas berbahaya dilepaskan ke atmosfera dan boleh diperolehi di semua 26 cawangan dan pengedar TCIE di seluruh Malaysia.  

Dengan konfigurasi enjin yang lebih tahan lasak dan kurang sensitif terhadap kandungan sulfur dalam minyak, teknologi SCR menyumbang kepada jangka hayat enjin yang lebih lama serta mengurangkan pencemaran alam.  

Selain menampilkan sistem Euro 5 dengan teknologi SCR, rangkaian baharu trak Quester dan Croner juga hadir dengan kluster instrumen baharu bersama tips penjimatan bahan api pada masa sebenar. Ciri ini memberikan maklum balas yang spesifik dan segera mengenai teknik pemanduan yang lebih menjimatkan minyak kepada pemandu. 

Ketua Pegawai Operasi TCIE, Say Teck Ming berkata, “Penawaran rangkaian trak Euro 5 baharu membuktikan komitmen TCIE dan UD Trucks dalam menyokong agenda alam sekitar, sosial dan tadbir urus di Malaysia. Ia juga memenuhi keperluan syarikat pengendali pengangkutan moden dalam persekitaran dunia yang kian berubah. 

“Melalui kekuatan TCIE, trak Euro 5 Quester dan Croner baharu akan dihasilkan secara CKD di kemudahan pengilangan kami. Quester menggabungkan aspek penjimatan dan ketahanan luar biasa, selain ketersambungan dan persediaan perniagaan melalui ciri UD Telematics serta keselamatan dengan pelbagai ciri termasuklah transmisi automatik manual ESCOT. 

Croner pula menawarkan ketahanan dan versatiliti menerusi rangkaian model yang luas serta boleh diubah suai bagi memenuhi pelbagai aplikasi spesifik. Ia juga menjimatkan minyak dengan reka bentuk kabin aerodinamik yang mengurangkan tahap pekali seretan serta menggunakan transmisi automatik Allison. Rangkaian model Euro V baharu menampilkan teknologi Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) untuk meningkatkan perlindungan alam sekitar dan menjimatkan bahan api dengan signifikan. Dengan teknologi ini, nitrogen oksida kini 60% lebih kurang dan emisi partikel berkurang sebanyak 80% berbanding tahap Euro III.

 

Jika dibandingkan dengan tahap Euro 4, nitrogen oksida adalah 43% lebih kurang. Bukan itu sahaja, enjin Euro V juga lebih jimat dan rendah emisi CO² berbanding trak Euro III yang sama. 

UD Trucks ialah pengeluar trak pertama yang memperkenalkan teknologi Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) sejak tahun 2004. Teknologi itu terbukti boleh dipercayai berbanding teknologi kawalan emisi lain untuk mengurangkan emisi nitrogen oksida.  

Teknologi SCR dapat menjimatkan penggunaan bahan api dan kos pemilikan secara keseluruhan kerana kurang keperluan penyelenggaraan berbanding teknologi kawalan emisi yang ada sekarang. Ia juga menawarkan kuasa dan tork lebih tinggi melalui pembakaran yang optimum tanpa perlu meningkatkan saiz enjin. 

Tempoh operasi perniagaan juga dapat dipertingkat menerusi selang servis lebih baik dan tempoh penyelenggaraan yang lebih singkat. Perkara ini disokong oleh adanya AdBlue, satu bendalir ekzos diesel yang selamat untuk digunakan pada kenderaan dengan teknologi SCR. Ia berfungsi mengurangkan gas-gas berbahaya dilepaskan ke atmosfera dan boleh diperolehi di semua 26 cawangan dan pengedar TCIE di seluruh Malaysia.

UD Trucks Realisasikan Matlamat Korporat “Kehidupab Lebih Baik” Kepada Kanak-Kanak Kurang Bernasib Baik di Rumah K.I.D.S.

Kakitangan UD Trucks Malaysia baru-baru ini telah berkumpul untuk memeriahkan lagi program kebajikan apabila mengunjungi kanak-kanak di Rumah K.I.D.S di USJ, Subang Jaya dan menyumbang 10 unit komputer riba, permainan serta barangan makanan, sekali gus membawa kegembiraan kepada mereka. Pasukan UD Trucks Malaysia menghabiskan masa selama setengah hari bersama hampir 30 orang kanak-kanak sambil membantu membuat tetapan komputer riba. Mereka juga mengadakan pelbagai aktiviti pendidikan yang menyeronokkan termasuk tentang keselamatan jalan raya, permainan silang kata, pertandingan mewarna dan permainan kerusi muzik. 

Pengarah Urusan UD Trucks untuk Hub Malaysia, Steve Hedouin berkata, “Program kebajikan di Rumah K.I.D.S yang bertemakan ‘sharing is caring’ ini dianjur untuk menyokong rumah kebajikan dan menggalakkan kanak-kanak terhadap aspek Pendidikan, meningkatkan budaya kerja yang positif menerusi kerja-kerja kebajikan serta berkongsi matlamat korporat UD iaitu mencipta kehidupan lebih baik kepada masyarakat. Lebih daripada itu, saya berbangga kerana program ini dianjur dan disertai sepenuhnya oleh pasukan kakitangan kami. Ia nyata memberi kami peluang untuk membantu masyarakat bukan sahaja selaku kakitangan UD Trucks, malah sebagai seorang individu. 

“Kami sangat gembira kerana dapat menyumbang komputer riba kepada kanak-kanak yang akan menggalakkan mereka supaya menjadi celik komputer dan aspek pendidikan secara keseluruhannya. Minat mendalam dan penglibatan yang ditunjukkan oleh kanak-kanak ini dalam semua aktiviti yang dianjurkan oleh pasukan kami sangat memuaskan. 

“Sebagai sebuah syarikat trak, kami juga berasakan bahawa sudah menjadi tanggungjawab kami untuk memasukkan elemen keselamatan jalan raya ke dalam aktitiviti-aktiviti mereka. Ia melibatkan tayangan video, di mana kakitangan kami memberitahu kanak-kanak tentang asas-asas penting untuk melintas jalan dengan selamat dan tahu mengenai titik buta kenderaan. Secara keseluruhannya, ini merupakan satu program yang sangat bermakna dan kami tidak sabar untuk menganjurkan aktiviti kemasyarakatan sama pada masa depan.” 

Ditubuhkan pada tahun 1991, Rumah K.I.D.S merupakan kediaman untuk  anak-anak yatim yang didera dan diabai yang memerlukan penjagaan, bimbingan dan sokongan bagi mendapatkan kehidupan lebih baik pada masa depan. Sejak 32 tahun lalu, Rumah K.I.D.S telah menjaga, memberi makan dan mendidik lebih 300 orang kanak-kanak berusia semuda setahun, hinggalah remaja dan belia. 

Pengurus Kanan yang bertanggungjawab dari segi mendapatkan dana, kerjasama dan perhubungan awam, David Jansen Nathan berkata, “Selain melindungi kanak-kanak daripada didera dan diabaikan, misi Rumah K.I.D.S adalah untuk membolehkan mereka menamatkan pengajian dan merealisasikan potensi mereka. 

“Melalui pendidikan, kanak-kanak boleh menjalani kehidupan yang lebih produktif dalam masyarakat. Kami amat berterima kasih kepada UD Trucks kerana sudi menyumbang komputer riba dan barangan keperluan lain, di samping menganjurkan semua aktiviti tersebut. Saya dapat lihat kanak-kanak ini begitu gembira.” 

Menurut beliau lagi, kanak-kanak yang tinggal di Rumah K.I.D.S akan diperkenalkan dengan keluarga baharu di mana mereka akan membentuk ikatan persahabatan dengan abang, kakak dan adik-adik di dalam satu persekitaran yang sihat dan selamat. Ia juga mempunyai rutin belajar, membuat kerja rumah, bermain dan berehat yang sihat bagi membolehkan mereka berada dalam keadaan yang gembira serta selamat.

Jansen Nathan menyatakan bahawa Rumah K.I.D.S kekal komited untuk membantu mana-mana penghuninya yang telah menamatkan sekolah menengah dan mahu melanjutkan pengajian atau mencapai cita-cita mereka. Beliau berkongsi rasa bangga mengenai seorang kanak-kanak, Manisha yang datang tinggal di Rumah K.I.D.S pada tahun 2006 ketika berusia empat tahun dan kini menjadi graduan dalam Diploma Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak.

Walaupun perjalanan pendidikannya tidak mudah, namun mereka berusaha untuk menjadikannya satu kenyataan. Manisha kini mahu meneruskan pengajian ke peringkat ijazah sarjana muda. Bagi membantu beliau, Rumah K.I.D.S baru-baru ini ada memulakan satu program mendapatkan dana pendidikan tinggi.

“Usaha mengumpul dana untuk pendidikan tinggi ini bertujuan membolehkan remaja seperti Manisha menggapai impian kerjaya, seterusnya menjadikan mereka lebih bersedia untuk kembali menyumbang kepada masyarakat pada masa depan. Memandangkan kami bergantung sepenuhnya kepada sumbangan awam, kami berharap syarikat-syarikat dan orang perseorangan akan tampil membantu kami memberi peluang kepada remaja-remaja ini,” jelas Jansen Nathan.

马来西亚UD Trucks 多位职员日前造访位于首邦市的Rumah K.I.D.S 儿童院,并捐赠10台笔记本电脑、衣服、玩具和日常用品给儿童院的孩子们。此外,他们还为孩子们精心安排各种精彩活动,让大家笑逐颜开。在与近30名小孩度过的半天里,他们一起设置笔记本电脑,教导小孩道路安全意识,并且参与了益智游戏、填色比赛和抢椅子游戏等活动。

UD Trucks马来西亚区董事经理Steve Hedouin 在活动上提道:“这场为Rumah K.I.D.S儿童院举办的慈善活动主题为‘分享是关爱’(sharing is caring),旨在协助儿童院,鼓励孩子们继续升学,并通过社区服务培养积极的职场文化,以及推广UD Trucks为人们创造更美好生活的企业宗旨。我感到很骄傲,因为此次活动完全由团队自发决定和参与,使得我们有机会不仅以UD Trucks员工的身份,而且能以以个人身份回馈社会。”

Rumah K.I.D.S 儿童院成立于1991年,它专门收留那些曾遭受虐待或缺乏照顾的孩子和孤儿,给予他们关爱、引导和支持,让他们能够拥有更美好的生活和光明的未来。在过去的32年,Rumah K.I.D.S儿童院已收留、照顾和培养超过300名孩童,他们的年龄介于1岁至青少年和年轻人不等。 

Rumah K.I.D.S儿童院高级经理(筹款、伙伴关系和公关)David Jansen Nathan说:“Rumah K.I.D.S儿童院除了要保护孩子们免受虐待和缺乏照顾之外,另一个使命便是要协助他们完成学业,充分发挥他们的潜力。孩子们通过教育便能在社区过上有所作为的生活。我们很感谢UD Trucks 捐赠笔记本电脑和其他必需品给我们,并且还举办各种活动。我看得出孩子们都很高兴,也很欢迎这些大人们的到访。”

虽然她的升学之路并非一帆风顺,但她始终坚守信念,努力追求自己的梦想。如今,Manisha已做好准备进入大专学府攻读一个学位课程。为了协助她实现这个目标,Rumah K.I.D.S 儿童院最近发起高等教育筹款运动。
